Yoga in Pre-K R

Pre-K R began a new daily practice of doing yoga each morning. Some of the techniques taught in Yoga, such as taking deep, calm breaths, have great benefits throughout our day.
Here are a few reasons why Yoga is great for children:
• They develop body awareness
• They learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way
• The learn to manage stress through breathing, self-awareness, meditation and healthy movement
• Yoga builds concentration and increases confidence and positive self-image
• Yoga provides a healthy alternative to “tuning out” through constant attachment to electronic devices
