Chinese Culture Week

The Chinese Department and the 5 Dragon Houses successfully held the Chinese Culture Week to celebrate the Dragon Year during the week of Feb.6th to 10th 2012.

Students from K to 12 participated in a special activity every lunch hour this week.

  • Day 1 was Chinese noodle making Performance. A noodle-making master came to our school from the Sheraton Hotel and performed how to make hand-made noodles. After watching the performance students had to make their own noodles.
  • Day 2 was Iron wheel Relay, the traditional game of China.
  • Day 3 was Tea Race Relay. Students from each House tried hard to race with tiny tea cups filled with water without spilling.
  • Day 4 was Body Chinese Characters. PS students used color boards to make Chinese character 一,十,土,王,玉. When all five Houses work together for one Chinese character, it represented that we are one big family. HS students made a Chinese Character with their bodies. Finally, teachers also made the character 师 (meaning teacher).
  • Day 5 was Dragon House Puzzle. Students from K-12 were making house dragon puzzles in the school gym. Please check our school website for all the exciting pictures
