Fire Fighters Help Us!

Our kindergarteners have been learning about places in our community. To support our learning, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 our kindergarten students and teachers departed campus at 8:45 for the Tianjin Fire Station. We were welcomed by the fire chief who proceeded to show us around. We got to see the 4 different kinds of firetrucks and learn about the different kinds of equipment on each of the trucks and what they are used for. We got the chance to try on the firemen’s uniforms which we learned there are two different kinds-one for fighting fires and one used during rescue. We got to see where the firemen sleep and eat and how they meticulously fold their beds each morning. The highlight of the day was watching the fireman slide down the pole! We learned a lot about fire safety and how important firefighters are in our community.
