ISCOT Choral Festival

On Wednesday April 11, 2013 Students from TEDA International School participateed in an ISCOT Grade 3 – 12 Choral Festival at Tianjin International School in Tianjin China.

This was not a competition but a community event to celebrate the love of music.  TEDA International School, Tianjin International School and The International School of Tianjin all showcased their Primary, Middle and Secondary Choirs to an audience of parents, staff and each school.

The day began with the rehersal of all of the choirs to learn a song that was later performed at the the event.  Freetime, snack, more rehersals and lunch follower by the actual performance.  The host school Tianjin International School provided excellent service to all the visiting schools and were very professional.

The primary choir performed two songs; “Silver Birch”  and “an African number”.  The Middle School performed  “Joshua fought the battle of Jericho”  The Secondary School sung “Ava Maria” and a compilation of modern hits.  After all the choirs perfomed individually, they then combined to sing “Viva la Musica”  It was a great experience.

All choirs representing TIS gave an excellence performance.  Praise to all the choir members and special thanks to Choir Directors Olinga Mazlum, Victorai Leith, Serena G and Yvonne Zhou.
