Dr. Seuss STEM Fun!

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, the Grade 1 students enjoyed participating in various STEM activities this week. (STEM stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.”) First, we used red and white plastic cups and pieces of paper to build the tallest and most durable towers that we could make. (The tallest tower reached 175 cm, and the most durable tower stood for more than 30 minutes without falling!) We also used “Cat in the Hat”-colored Legos to create our own patterns in math class. Finally, we had to use our problem-solving skills to create a nest that could protect our baby eggs from Horton the elephant sitting on them! (From the book “Horton Hears a Who.”) Great job, Grade 1!
