Snow Science!

In Grade 1, we thought that these past two weeks would be the ideal time to conduct some snow experiments! They fit in perfectly with our unit about “Solids, Liquids, and Gasses.” The students enjoyed the following experiments, among others: making “snow volcanoes”; predicting whether salt would make snow melt more quickly; creating ice “ornaments” to hang on the trees; and experiencing what it would be like to have a protective layer of blubber like the penguins!
